I’m chalking it up to all dance social networks not having reached that critical mass yet. In any user-base the vast majority are freeloaders. People who lurk, don’t participate or post questions but not answers. Until the user-base is large enough that the smaller percentage of active users can overcome the inertia of the lurkers, nothing good happens.
